Integrated

Integrated refers to a state in which the differentiated elements of physiological, psychological, and relational functioning are linked within a more connected, coherent, and continuous whole.

An integrated state of mind reflects the capacity to discern and link together distinguished modes of processing, including affective and neuroceptive sensation, relational and regulatory perception, and semantic and sense-making interpretation. In this way, integration supports the spaciotemporal emergence of the here-and-now as it connects with the then-and-there and opens toward the new-and-next.

In the context of wellbeing, being integrated reflects a property of Self, the affective and dynamic development of a connected, coherent, and continuous sense of Self within and between Self, Other(s), and the World around us.

To be integrated is to carry a greater degree of contextual coherence, allowing the Self to remain more congruent, connected, and continuous across changing conditions of life.
