For when you feel lost

For when you feel lost

Feeling lost can be one of the most disorienting experiences we move through, often arising in times of transition, loss, or exhaustion, or when the ways we have long coped begin to loosen.

Our systems seek and sense, receive and perceive, and reach toward interpretation, searching for something that might help us make sense of where we are. When there is more than can be integrated at once, our systems may cloud over in service of protection, slowing us and softening what feels too much to see all at once.

In these moments the pull toward certainty can become intense, and the not-knowing may feel unbearable, especially when we have learned to find our way through on our own. The not-knowing is also part of becoming, a threshold where older ways of being no longer fit and what is yet-to-come has not yet taken shape.

Within co-regulated connection, what feels formless may gradually find language, meaning, and direction, at a pace that honours where we are. We need not find our way alone.
