Emotions

Emotions

There is a flow of energy and information within ourselves and within our relationships that requires us to pay attention in times of change.

Often when an emotion arises we are not quite sure what to make of it, so sometimes we choose to suppress it. Yet, if we choose to acknowledge the flow in our lives, then we can mindfully and intentionally stop to see an emotion as the active invitation to explore what changes are stirring within.

If I am feeling sad, can I stop and acknowledge the embodied feelings, the pain that is evoking a movement within me towards making more sense of my narrative?

What if I am angry? Can I stop, breathe, and meet my anger in compassion knowing that underneath it there is a message for me?

And if I am happy, can I take the time to appreciate all that created the joy and allow it to reverberate with momentum in others around me?

No matter the emotion, it holds within it energy to create shifts within us towards meaning and sense making.
